I have spent quite some time thinking of what to write on our "cover" page.
As a born and bred Lombard - that is with both feet firmly on the ground -
I first considered the hard facts, thinking of what we had achieved.
The substancial work we put into our lido over the last two years completely
transformed it. The special ambiente now sets it apart, while at the same time
stressing the existing atmosphere of the place and never forgetting what we wanted to do
most of all, to enjoy and share the sea with you.
Later, though, we became more and more aware of the fact, that "Mignon's" special spirit didn't show so much in tangible things as where there was
nothing to feel but "air". As a matter of fact, we succeeded in creating spaces,
ambiente, a place where one can feel at ease.
Here there is space to breathe and admire the sea, secluded areas to read
or to chat, a place for a meditation "downstairs" in an ambiente of particular
tranquility and "zen" mood – though still on the beach, but a step away from
the sun that seems never to tire of her work.
When dusk finally sets in and we are waiting for a tasty dinner, we gather on
the terrace contemplating the moment through the reflections in a glass of wine.
Our dishes are simple but sophisticatedly authentic, with original local and
therefore always fresh ingredients, and these will raise your experience of the
sea to a yet higher level.
Here we try to avoid the way of life we so gladly left at home. There is no "beach animation" (what a nightmare for those who truly love the sea), there is
no music on a p.a. not even the terror of a soccer game on the radio. Neither
do we stumble over one another as in a beehive.
In brief, we hold our own against the frantic hystery of our times, which will
never grant a "cease-fire" and we harbour you in this elegant ambiente, where
you can relax at last and feel the elements and yourselves.
We almost forgot - and this is something very tangibile indeed (even if we
cannot take the credit for it): We have the sea - and what a sea!
Just listen to the wind and the waves: huge ones, a continuous crystal sparkle with
foamy white crests. What beauty!
We welcome you, but must now take a splash!
See you soon,
